ALSC Proudly Supporting “Make Believe, Make Wellbeing” for Queensland Mental Health Week
At the Australian Leadership Skills Centre, we believe leadership goes far beyond the workplace - it’s how we carry ourselves and how we interact in all aspects of life. Mental health, emotional literacy and connection sit at the heart of strong leadership, and that’s why we’re proud to support this year’s Queensland Mental Health Week through a very special community event.
Our General Manager, Shona, will be speaking at Make Believe, Make Wellbeing, a unique mental health experience inspired by QAGOMA’s exhibition Make, Believe, Magic – The Worlds of Jim Henson. The event blends art, storytelling and reflection to help us reconnect with emotional skills we often lose in the rush of “adulting”: naming our emotions, using our imagination, being brave, experiencing the moment, and caring for our friends.
These are not just childhood lessons - they are foundational wellbeing skills that strengthen resilience, empathy and connection in our workplaces and communities.
Hosted by the Australia Malaysia Business Council Queensland Inc, the morning includes a short mental health talk, a guided visit to the exhibition, and a relaxed picnic lunch. It’s a chance to step out of routine, reconnect with creativity, and explore mental health in a gentle, joyful way.
We’re proud to stand behind initiatives that support community wellbeing, emotional intelligence and meaningful connection - the very qualities that shape strong leaders.
Join us this Sunday 11 October at 9:30am as we make wellbeing a little more magical.
