Diploma of Business

Job Interview
Diploma of
Business

Boost your business acumen with a broad-based foundation programme immersed in practical and realistic business skills. The Diploma of Business will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and understanding you need to make a real impact in the workforce. Finance, critical thinking, business planning, leadership, and digital strategy are some of the essential areas this qualification covers.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have frontline management accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise that requires business operations skills. They may possess substantial experience in a range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions.

To complete the qualification, participants will undertake twelve (12) units. Five (5) units are core or compulsory units that must be completed by all candidates. Of the seven (7) elective units, two (2) must be chosen from Group A. The other five (5) can be chosen from any group, including Group A.

Participants can complete a general qualification (Diploma of Business) or a specialist qualification in a discrete study area (for example, Diploma of Business (Leadership)). To achieve a specialisation, participants need to complete four (4) elective units from a specialisation (Group).

The specialisations available through the Australian Leadership Skills Centre are:

  • Diploma of Business (Operations), requiring four (4) elective units from Group A

  • Diploma of Business (Leadership), requiring four (4) elective units from Group B
