Delivered by the Australian Leadership Skills Centre (RTO 32156), this qualification equips learners with the skills needed to lead and manage themselves, teams, and groups effectively. A guided and robust programme of study strengthens your capability in people management, communication, workplace relations, teamwork, and emotional intelligence - helping you step confidently into leadership roles or enhance your existing practice. Participants gain practical tools and strategies that translate directly into real‑life workplace situations across a wide range of industries.

Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.  As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level are likely to provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They may also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams.

 

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Units of Competence

The qualification covers twelve (12) units of competence, five (5) core units and seven (7) elective units. Of these seven, four (4) electives come from Group A, and the remaining three (3) should be chosen from Group B.

Group A (Four (4) elective units from below)

BSBCRT413 Collaborate in creative processes

BSBTWK401 Build and maintain business relationships

BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs

Group B (Choose three (3) elective units from below)

BSBCRT412 Articulate, present and debate ideas

BSBPEF502 Develop and use emotional intelligence

BSBPMG430 Undertake project work

BSBWRT411 Write complex documents

All sessions are supported by learning materials, readings and intensive coaching and mentoring by facilitators, as well as online, email and phone support.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal pre-requisites for studying this qualification, but candidates should have the literacy and numeracy skills required to study at a certificate IV level. In order to successfully complete the qualification we recommend that candidates should have one of the following:

  • hold a Certificate III 

  • have relevant vocational practice, without formal qualifications

  • have other educational qualifications and some vocational experience.
