You may have heard there has been a recent change to the qualification BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning). This is a quick update to let our students and potential students know about the changes.
A recent ASQA update has changed the enrolment pathway for international students considering enrolling in BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning). The key point is simple: international student enrolments for this qualification have been stopped, whether the student is onshore in Australia or offshore.
According to ASQA’s public notice, the change follows action under the ESOS Act and comes from a Ministerial decision affecting this one qualification. For potential students, this means plans may need to change. If BSB80120 was part of your study pathway, career plan, or course comparison list, it is time to pause and check the latest advice.
What has changed for BSB80120 Enrolment Update
ASQA has published an update about the cancellation under the ESOS Act for BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning). The practical outcome is that international students can no longer be enrolled in this qualification.
This applies to:
International students currently in Australia
International students applying from overseas
New enrolment activity for this specific qualification
The update does not affect other management courses or vocational education courses. It is specific to BSB80120. International students who may have been considering this qualification may still be able to study other eligible qualifications. It also does not affect Australian students, or international students who are already enrolled.
What this means for ALSC Students and Potential Students
These changes do not affect any current ALSC students enrolled in the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning). Your study plan, support, and progression remain exactly the same.
As ALSC does not deliver CRICOS‑registered training, the impact on our organisation is limited. The update simply means we are no longer able to accept new offshore international applications for this qualification. Domestic students are still fully eligible to enrol.
For the vast majority of our learners, nothing changes - and ALSC continues to deliver high‑quality, flexible leadership and management education as usual.

Keep checking before you apply
This update is a reminder that course availability can change. A qualification may be listed in one place but unavailable in another, especially when regulatory action has occurred.
Before applying for any Australian course as an international student, check:
The exact qualification code
Whether the course is open to international students
Whether the provider is approved to deliver it to overseas students
Current entry requirements
Current fees and intake dates
Any conditions that apply to your location or visa status
A few minutes of checking can prevent bigger problems later.
The key takeaway
International students should not proceed with a new enrolment in BSB80120 without first checking the official ASQA update and receiving current written advice from the provider.
The change is specific, but it is significant. If this qualification was part of a study plan, pause before applying, paying, or making travel decisions. Confirm the status, review alternatives, and seek the right advice if visas or refunds are involved.
